Shirl's World

wilwheaton:

I love this picture so much.

DOOD! I LOVE THIS!

wilwheaton:

Ryan put this on my laptop while I was out of the room.

I think it’s payback for this.

…it is so on.

Yawn!

So, yesterday was pretty great.

I taught at the first service of church, and all three of my kids were my helpers.  Or rather, two of my kids played dominoes while I was teaching.

We made (or tried to, it didn’t always work out) angel garlands, which was cool.  The kids liked it because they got to use scissors, and decided they needed sheep too.

So, some of the kids made sheep garlands.

Then I asked the kids to tell us about their angels.  They came up with some great names and ideas about what their angels were doing.

My kids kept asking for snacks, but I managed to put them off.  My kids would eat out all the samples at a Costco, before they were finished getting set up.

We sang some Christmas songs. Not only church songs, either.  But one thing that bothered me… One of the kids (who likes to tease me and call me Grandma) wanted to sing “Away in the Manger”.

I went to Catholic school for 8.5 years of my schooling.  Every year during the Christmas pageant or whatever, we sang that song.  Every dang year.  And I can’t remember the words to the song!

So for next week-cause I’m teaching the same class again, I’m going to prepare myself and start playing my Christmas music.  And just to make it more festive, I think I might start putting up the rest of the decorations, even though we don’t have our tree yet.

Eclipse

7:20 is there’s supposed to be a total eclipse visible in the skies over Phoenix, AZ.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

And only then if I can go outside to see it and not freeze like a Shirl-sicle, which at 39 degrees doesn’t seem very likely.

If my pictures come out, I’ll post them later.  Because I finally figured out I don’t need the cord to put the cameras on the computer… I have an SD card slot on this freaking machine!

FORK!

IT’S DAMN COLD IN MY HOUSE!

And I cannot find my sweater.  Wearing my winter coat seems like overkill. Doing hot dogs and tater tots for dinner tonight.  With one extra kid, and no going to math class at 7:30 in the morning tomorrow.

Pancake breakfast tomorrow, for sure!

Blech!

That is all.

tumblrbot asked: WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

I want to visit Alaska.  To see the Aurora Borealis!

The Count Would Be Proud

Yesterday started off with one.

One job interview today.

Yesterday ended with two.

Two job interviews today.

Two!  Count them, TWO job interviews today!

Muahahaha!

Finally, the drought is over.  And one job, I’m almost guaranteed to get-because I used to work for their company, and the owner freaking loves me!

By the end of the day, I hope to be gainfully employed.

Thank you, sweet baby Jesus!
